Evergreen perennial, a robust, easy to grow Heuchera with purple-bronze leaves and small flowers in spring. Moisture retentive soil in shade or semi-shade.
A great companion plant to either green ferns or, if you are a little bolder, painted ferns, especially Athyrium nipponicum 'Regal Red'. The purples are divine when mixed and it also gives the area winter interest after the Painted Fern dies down in the autumn. (That's todays top free tip!)
The purple is also a great foil for other plants to, including the chive in the photograph!
